I have a solid record of experience and action. As your Councilmember, I have served as a volunteer, forgoing all the usual compensations and city council salaries; including pension and health benefits. Additionally, my community service includes volunteering at my children’s school, Winter Nights Shelter for homeless families, Rotary, Walnut Creek Downtown, and the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce. I serve on several Council committees, including amongst others:

  • Public Safety
  • Public Education
  • Housing and Community Development
  • Clarke Swim Center

Making efficient use of the tax payers money is crucial. I have made an extra effort to be the taxpayers’ watchdog, successfully avoiding tax increases on homeowners and residents. I have brought unique insight and innovative solutions to meet the challenges of our modern city, including:

  • Supporting a fully staffed police department
  • Keeping our neighborhoods and families safe
  • Ensuring funding for our pools, arts, recreation, open space, and libraries
  • Developing a public/private partnership to replace our aging pool infrastructure

We love Walnut Creek’s quality of life. My wife, Melissa, is a Vice President at an international investment bank. We have two young daughters who attend local schools.

I earned my BA Degree in Business Administration from California State University, East Bay. As a results-driven technology executive and small business owner, I have delivered successful results through hard work, innovation, and fiscal management.

I fundamentally believe that government works best when our elected representatives are held accountable. My email address is: justin@justinwedel.com and if you have any questions, please call me at my home – 925-899-2535.
